Fashion month wrapped a little while back, and I’ve had time to actually sit with what came down the runways for Fall/Winter 2026 instead of just reacting in the moment. A few collections stood out to me, not just because they were beautiful (most of fashion month is), but because they felt genuinely wearable, or at least genuinely inspiring for how I want to get dressed this season. Here’s what I’m excited about.
A quick note: the images below are runway photography from each respective house, not my own, credited to the designer/show under each one.
1. Gucci’s Bold New Era Under Demna

Demna’s debut season at Gucci was, without question, one of the most talked-about collections of the entire fashion month, the kind of show where everyone in fashion has an opinion, and most of them are strong ones either way. Whatever your take on the direction, it’s impossible to ignore how much of a statement it made.
Why I’m excited about it: big creative director changes at legacy houses are genuinely rare, and they’re when fashion actually shifts direction. Even if this particular collection isn’t fully “wearable” for everyone, it’s setting a tone that will trickle into how the whole industry moves this year.
2. Chanel’s Layered, Sequined Era Under Matthieu Blazy

Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel this season featured layered sequin pieces that read almost like scales, paired with floral appliqué, shown against a set designed to look like a construction site, which was a genuinely bold choice for the house.
Why I’m excited about it: the layering technique here is something you can actually translate down, mixing textures and finishes in one outfit instead of matching everything perfectly is a trend that’s forgiving and fun to play with at any price point.
3. Dior’s New Era Under Jonathan Anderson

This was one of the most-discussed collections of the entire season, Jonathan Anderson’s vision for Dior, and everyone in fashion has an opinion on it. Whatever your take, it’s clearly setting the tone for where the house goes next.
Why I’m excited about it: new creative directors at legacy houses are when fashion actually shifts direction, this is the collection I’d point to if someone asked “what’s actually changing in fashion right now.”
4. Ralph Lauren’s Romantic English Countryside

Set against beaux-arts architecture, Ralph Lauren’s collection leaned into rich, earth-toned fabrics mixed with metallic detailing, a romantic, adventurous mood rather than the brand’s usual polished Americana.
Why I’m excited about it: earth tones with a metallic edge is an easy trend to actually wear this fall think a rich brown or olive piece with just one metallic accent, rather than head-to-toe shine.
5. Celine’s Monochrome With A Pop

Michael Rider’s Celine featured monochromatic looks punctuated with pops of red, restrained, elegant, and a strong option if you gravitate toward a more minimal wardrobe but still want a seasonal update.
Why I’m excited about it: monochrome dressing with a single accent color is one of the easiest “expensive-looking” tricks that costs nothing extra, it’s about how you put together pieces you likely already own.
My Overall Take
If I had to sum up the season in one thread: texture and confidence over spectacle. Gucci’s bold new direction, Chanel’s layered sequins, Dior’s new direction, Ralph Lauren’s rich tones, Celine’s restrained monochrome, none of these collections were chasing a gimmick. They all felt like genuine style statements you could actually translate into how you get dressed, not just runway theater.
Which of these are you most excited to try this fall? Let me know below — I want to see how you’re all interpreting the season.
