PH5 has become my new favorite for statement knitwear, here are the pieces that made me a fan, from ombré prints to sculptural silhouettes.
Knitwear brands usually fall into two camps — safe basics, or costume-y statement pieces you’ll wear once. PH5 is the rare brand doing something genuinely in between: technical, sculptural knitwear with real color and print experimentation, but silhouettes that still feel wearable. Here’s what’s caught my eye.
1. LIMIA SHEER LONG DRESS
This blue knit maxi is doing so much with so little — a sculpted sheer mesh panel across the torso creates a wave-like cutout effect, while the rest of the dress is a rich, saturated cobalt with a leg slit for movement. It’s the kind of design detail that photographs beautifully but is genuinely clever construction, not just a gimmick panel slapped on.
Why it’s a favorite: the color is the real star here — that exact shade of blue is hard to find done this well, and the sheer paneling means it reads as considered design, not just “here’s a hole in a dress.”
2. NOAH HALTER NECK LONG DRESS
This is the showstopper of the collection for me — a navy-to-lavender ombré knit with a scattered star print, halter neckline, tie detail at the back, and a high slit that moves beautifully. It reads like literally wearing the night sky, without tipping into costume territory.
Why it’s a favorite: ombré knitwear is genuinely hard to execute well without looking cheap, and this nails the gradient transition — plus the backless tie detail gives it a second interesting angle beyond just the front view.
3. SOFIA DROP SHOULDER LONG DRESS
An off-shoulder, asymmetric-hem dress in a brown and grey polka-dot knit, with a blue floral motif running down the front on one version. The tie detail at the shoulder and the handkerchief-style asymmetric hem give this one a more editorial, art-piece feel than the others.
Why it’s a favorite: this is the one I’d pull out for something where I want people to actually ask “where is that from” — it doesn’t read like anything else in a typical closet.
4. KALEI ALPACA WAVY DRESS
A complete change of pace from the maxi dresses, a black off-shoulder mini with a fuzzy, wavy ruffle trim at the cuffs and hem. Long sleeves paired with a mini length gives it a nice push-pull between covered-up and playfu
Why it’s a favorite: this is the most versatile piece of the four, easy to dress up or down, and the ruffle trim adds texture without needing any additional accessories to make the outfit feel finished.
My Overall Take
What ties all four of these together is that PH5 isn’t just making “pretty knitwear” — there’s real technical thought in the construction, whether that’s the sheer paneling, the ombré gradient, the asymmetric hem, or the ruffle trim. This is exactly the kind of brand I want to keep discovering and featuring — genuinely distinct, not just another label doing a version of what everyone else is doing.
